Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Effective Date: Academic Session 2025–2026 • Last Updated: September 2026

1. Peer-to-Peer Marketplace Nature

BatchLoop (encompassing BatchLoop Exchange and BatchLoop Rides) functions strictly as an interactive technology platform connecting verified university students and campus peers. BatchLoop is not an e-commerce retailer, merchant, manufacturer, or transport operator.

All item listings, barter exchanges, ride-sharing arrangements, and parcel deliveries via the Campus Piggyback Protocol (CPP) are entered into directly and voluntarily between individual users.

2. "As-Is" and "As-Available" Warranty Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, BatchLoop, its student contributors, developers, and institutional affiliates provide the platform on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express, statutory, or implied.

We do not warrant that: (a) item descriptions or conditions provided by users are accurate or complete; (b) items purchased or borrowed will meet academic examination requirements; or (c) services will be uninterrupted or error-free during peak semester exam windows.

3. Transit & In-Person Safety Risk Allocation

Users are solely responsible for inspecting items during physical handshakes before exchanging funds or tokens. For peer rides and parcel hand-offs, all participants must verify the student's identity on campus and confirm the cryptographic 6-digit handshake PIN.

BatchLoop expressly disclaims liability for any loss, damage, delayed delivery, vehicular mishap, property disputes, or personal injury occurring outside platform software boundaries.

4. Non-Commercial Statutory Compliance

Under Section 66 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, ride and parcel contributions on BatchLoop Rides are restricted to non-commercial fuel-cost splits calculated strictly according to standard vehicle engine displacement and fuel consumption rates. No driver or user may use BatchLoop for commercial taxi, courier, or hire services.

5. Limitation of Monetary Liability

In no event shall BatchLoop or its developers be liable for indirect, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages. In any circumstance, our maximum aggregate liability to any user shall be capped at the total fees paid by such user to BatchLoop during the three (3) months preceding the claim, or ₹500 INR, whichever is lower.
